Doce Methodos (doh-seh me-tho-dos): The 12 Methods of Pasugat or force on force engagement/contact. This is the primary system that our Pekiti-Tirsia Kali training is based upon.​
​
Echekete (et-cheh-keh-teh): Indirect thrust or evasive thrust.​
​
Florete (floh-reh-teh): "Flower" or flourishing strikes. A type of advanced manipulation tactic.​
​
Hastartes (has-tar-tess): Guro Ferd's original name for his martial arts organization. The term is based on the ancient Roman hastati or spearman. See details in our About page.​
​
Sungkete (soong-keh-teh): direct thrust.​
​
Sungkit (soong-kit): Another term for direct thrust.​
​
Sagang Labo (sah-gang lah-bo): The complete term is sagang labo sa sera sera, meaning counter-offense to offense or attack the attack at extreme close-range (pekiti pekiti).​
​
Signifer (sig-ni-fur): Also Vexillum Signifer or Standard Bearer in Latin. It is the official designation given to an Affiliate Member and Authorized Instructor, who has established a local training group under Hastartes Tactical.​
​
Orassan (o-rah-sahn): The "clock system" or the principle of witik. It is Method 8 in the Doce Methodos system.​
​
Pambuno/Pangbuno (pahm-boo-noh/pang-boo-noh): Another word for direct thrust.​
​
Panastas (pah-nas-tas): A forceful slash, often used as a deflection strike.​
​
Pasugat (pah-soo-gaht): "To slash" or the principle of force on force engagement. Doce Methodos is primarily based upon this principle.​
​
Pasunod (pah-soo-nod): "To follow" or following the force of the attack. This is where the principle of contradas is found.​
